Welcome to "Praktische Informatik 1" - the Laboratory for Dependable Distributed Systems at the Department for Computer Science of the University of Mannheim, Germany. The chair is headed by Prof. Felix Freiling and was established on October 1, 2005.

The laboratory's research received some prominent recent media coverage. The channel Sat.1 reported on our honeypot research as part of Planetopia on January 27, 2008. A video clip can be viewed online . Similarly, the local channel RNF featured a report as part of Campus TV on February 21, 2008. A video is available online too. Finally, an extensive interview with Prof. Freiling was published on the website privatsphaere.org
